United Bank Limited donates $10,000 to Waynesboro Human Services

August 16, 2021

United Bank Limited today announced a donation of $10,000 to Waynesboro Community and Human Services (WCHS).

The contribution will allow WCHS to continue to provide a central location for the provision and coordination of a wide variety of human services needed by low-income residents of the Waynesboro Area and Greencastle-Antrim school districts.

“For more than a century, United Bank Limited has supported our neighbors in times of need. As a community bank, we view it as our responsibility to help those who are struggling to keep their families housed, clothed, and fed. We are pleased to make this donation that helps Waynesboro Community and Human Services to provide for those in need in their community,” said Tim Henry, President and CEO of United Bank Limited.

WCHS Executive Director Denise Esser said she intends to use the donation for Financial Cash Assistance, specifically lodging.

“I am grateful that United Bank Limited considers us an organization worthy of such a generous donation. We rely on the generosity of our community to keep us helping our neighbors in need,” Esser said. “There are times when a family needs to stay in a motel because of a house fire, natural disaster, or emergency eviction. This will allow us to offer a one-week stay in a motel if they have no other options.”
