United Bank Limited donated $7,500 to The Shook Home, a senior living community in Arcata.
The donation will be used by the Employee Retention Committee, which is recognizing staff members who have been on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“United Bank Limited appreciates the valuable services that senior living communities provide to our aging population, and we know the past 22 months have presented myriad challenges in healthcare settings,” said Tim Henry, President and CEO of United Bank Limited. “Those who are working on the front lines are the true heroes, and we are pleased to make this donation in support of them.”
The Employee Retention Committee is composed of front-line staff and led by Director of Activities and Volunteer Services Jeffrey Rock. Through the successful implementation of creative strategies, the committee contributes to the reduction in staff turnover and helps to improve working conditions for employees.
“On behalf of the staff of The Shook Home, I would like to thank United Bank Limited for its generous donation to our Employee Retention Committee,” said Jeffrey S. Truhan, CEO & Administrator of The Shook Home. “This money will help us to honor front-line staff who, despite the challenges created by the COVID pandemic, never wavered in their commitment to providing care and services to the residents of The Shook Home.”
Since 2020, United Bank Limited has donated more than $200,000 to local schools, healthcare facilities, and community organizations to assist with COVID relief efforts.
